An unforgettable night in Portugal

"I just want to go on doing what I’ve been doing – working hard, trying my best and being myself"

“Thank you, Portugal, for this unforgettable night”. This was how singer and actress Jennifer Lopez bade farewell to the country after a vibrant concert in Lisboa in early October. The Pavilhão Atlântico (Atlantic Pavilion) was turned into a dance floor for about 20 thousand fans captivated by the hit songs and choreography.

JLo, as she is affectionately known by her fans across the world, left Lisboa with the memory of “wonderful weather, fantastic, like Miami but without the fog”. “It’s beautiful. I love it”. A brief tour of the city enabled her to enjoy “a great morning” before she herself gave the Portuguese a great night.

It was in Lisboa that the voice of “On the Floor” inaugurated the “Dance Again World Tour”, with a special tribute in Portuguese in the verses of “Chorando se Foi”. This was Jennifer’s return trip to the Portuguese capital after she first visited in 2007 to add her glamour to the official declaration ceremony of the (New) 7 Wonders of the World.

Powerful?

Forbes magazine ranked her the most powerful celebrity in the world, a title that does not faze Jennifer Lopez. Along with the many awards she has received over the years, she sees it as recognition of her work and dedication but says that at the end of the day she does not take them too seriously. “I just want to go on doing what I’ve been doing – working hard, trying my best and being myself”, was the message she left in Lisbon.
